Welcome to the Team Hannah!
Introducing our new General Manager – Hannah McGeough

Hello! My name is Hannah and I am absolutely thrilled to have joined the team at Creation Theatre. I am so excited to continue creating with such a fantastic company around me.
When did you first decide you wanted to work in the theatre industry and why?
I remember going to see my first ever West End show, it was Billy Elliot, and thinking wow, this is incredible, I want to do that. I don’t think at the time I knew exactly what ‘that’ was, I just knew that I had to be a part of making an audience feel the way I felt that day, which was pure magic. Like anything was possible.
As I got older, I always held onto that moment and loved helping with theatre throughout school. I studied Drama as a degree and got my first job in theatre shortly after leaving university. I have never looked back!
What are you most excited about in your new role?
I am most excited about getting stuck into it all really. I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to learn how a production company and charity co-exist. I am excited for new challenges and for the space to be creative, fundraise and create magic for others.
What’s your favourite Creation theatre show you have seen or worked on (you are allowed to have a favourite…)?

My Favourite show has to either be Animal Farm or The Nutcracker. I absolutely loved the brilliance and warmth and excitement that came from The Nutcracker, and perhaps it feels special being my first Creation show as a general manager, and I still have some of the songs stuck in my head!!
Animal Farm was also totally fantastic. I actually worked on the show as a freelance Stage Manager and it was such a wonderful experience. Getting to work with such a brilliantly talented collective of creatives, actors and crew was such a joy, the play itself was total genius and I loved every second. A highlight would also have to have been wearing pig ears the entire run whilst operating the show.
Here is a picture of myself, the brilliant Sabrina, and some of the cast!
(No stage management desk is complete without tulips and squashies!!!)
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve done in your first week?!
Possibly watching 41 letters of Lady Susan just to ensure one hadn’t been missed out of a video reel, which I think is the most Creation task ever and the best possible introduction to the current works of the company. That and helping with a press night of The Nutcracker…what a wonderful opportunity it was to meet the team!
