Alice in Winter Wonderland

28th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027

The North Wall, Oxford

Step into a magical festive adventure this Christmas with Alice in Winter Wonderland – a brand-new seasonal twist on the classic tale for audiences of all ages.

Alice has questions. So many questions.

Why do we put tinsel on the tree? Why do we make Christmas pudding? Why do we pull crackers?

Dad doesn’t seem to have all the answers… but perhaps Wonderland does.

When Alice’s curiosity whisks her away into a spectacular winter wonderland, she discovers a festive world stranger and sillier than she could ever imagine. Join her for a tea party with the Mad Hatter — where everyone must wear a hat — meet a dodo who insists he is definitely not a turkey, and beware the Queen of Hearts, who insists that Christmas traditions must never, ever change. After all, Christmas has always been done this way… and that’s exactly how it must stay!

But the more Alice questions Wonderland’s curious Christmas customs, the more trouble she finds herself in. Can she find her way through a world where everyone has their own ideas about how Christmas must be done — especially when the Queen insists there’s only one right way?

Packed with festive fun, larger-than-life characters, music, laughter and plenty of Christmas magic, Alice in Winter Wonderland is a joyful family adventure celebrating curiosity, imagination, and the wonderfully weird traditions we return to every Christmas.  Perfect for audiences of all ages — come lose yourself in Wonderland this winter.

BSL Performance – Dates tbc.

The 2pm shows on 22nd and 28th December will be Relaxed Performances

A relaxed performance is where the ambience of the auditorium and theatre ‘rules’ are relaxed. These performances are ideal for people with learning disabilities or autism, or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment. The director and the actors and technical team on the show will also have thought carefully about what might need to change in the show so that people’s needs have been considered. For instance, very loud noises or music might be turned down or specific movements or lines might be adapted slightly.

We will create a visual story that will be handed out on the day.

Touch tour –  at 1:15pm in advance of the 2pm performance on 6 December
