The UK’s longest-running SMS-based, curated experience

We say: We’ve all been there, lost. No community. No tribe. No meaningful connection with others. Instead you’re swiping right and wondering what happened to the world and how can you ever find a meaningful connection in a world of apps and push notifications? Project Intimacy believes that we can change the way we engage with others and the world, reconnecting us to our tribes and bringing us back home to ourselves.
They say: Project Intimacy is a carefully curated, 2-week long SMS-experience which pairs two like-minded strangers together anonymously. Participants fill in a detailed pre-experience questionnaire which seeks to find out their likes/dislikes, values and beliefs.
You will know nothing about your partner, not even their name. We specifically mask the gender, location, race, age of all participants so that you form a connection without prejudice or judgement. Once paired both participants received daily instructions and through SMS text messaging. Interactions will vary from 5-30 minutes per day.
Project Intimacy is the longest-running SMS-based experience in the UK. In total, it has seen over 800 audiences connect from across over 25 countries.
Using scientific evidence on how we make friends and connections, Riptide have curated a carefully structured fortnight experience which promotes empathy and encourages people to look beyond their own four walls and to find a meaningful connection with a stranger from across the world.

We say: Using location aware audio and binaural beats the in app experience guides you through an unconventional relationship, falling in love and exploring identity. The walk invites you to explore your own position in our world.
They say: SONDER. (noun) /ˈsɔn.dər/: The realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.- The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows. Step into a mindful, 360° sound experience which takes you on a walk through Leeds, from the busy city centre to quiet riverside outskirts and back again. This immersive audio experience blends together poetic prose, with a rich binaural soundscape and original score, composed by talented local musicians Lara Jones and Mikey Sluman. Sonder is available to do in Leeds as you follow the physical journey through the city or from home.

Now, for the first time ever, this award-winning company is performing live on stage in front of an audience.
They say: Since the beginning of the pandemic, Theater in Quarantine (TiQ) has developed and livestreamed dozens of visually distinctive, original performances from an eight-square-foot closet in the East Village. Hailed as one of the most consistent and imaginative makers of digital performance, this Drama League Award–winning company has worked with over 100 remote collaborators, been profiled on NPR and in The New York Times, and has reached audiences around the globe. Now, for the first time in its history, Theater in Quarantine will perform live for an in-person audience, bringing the closet to the stage at the Library for the Performing Arts.

We say: good dog takes the time to welcome the audience into the world Arinze Kene, showing the injustices that drive people to act now. The play showcases 2000s culture, community and everyday heroes. At just under 20 minutes it packs a storytelling punch, well worth your time.

‘good dog’ explores the everyday injustices, people and places that make us who we are.
Set during the early noughties, ‘good dog’ chronicles growing up in a multicultural community and the everyday injustices that drive people to take back control… because even the most patient among us can’t wait forever.
Adapted from a full length play, this film follows a grown-up Boy revisiting and observing events in his life, narrating the past from the present. Boy – performed by Anton Cross – speaks to camera as our guide and narrator, looking on his younger self and the community he lives in.
