Antigone
21 - 23 November 2024
A Digital Production | After Sophocles
Adapted by Helen Eastman
You are cordially invited to join us for a press briefing on the current political situation in Thebes. Watch live as it unfolds…
Creation Theatre present the world premiere of this digital adaptation of Sophocles’ timeless classic Antigone. In the aftermath of a bloody civil war, Creon is trying to restore order. But his niece Antigone won’t accept his orders to leave her brother unburied. She’ll fight for what she believes is right. Whatever the cost.
In lockdown, Creation Theatre built an audience and a reputation across the globe for award-winning digital work. While we have been delighted to return to in person theatre, we still want to engage with this supportive digital audience and community, and make our work as accessible as possible, so we are delighted to be presenting this show online.
When you buy a ticket, you will be sent a log in link the day before the performance. You can join a performance from anywhere in the world where you have access to the internet. We have tried to schedule some performances to suit all time zones!
You can book a ‘class’ ticket to screen to students to watch ‘live’ at the times listed below. Alternatively, if you would like us to schedule a specific performance for your conference/ school/ university/ group/ friends and colleagues then please get in touch with our box office for costs.
Our CEO and Artistic Director, Helen Eastman, chatted to APGRD (Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama) about Antigone and online theatre – for more information click here or to listen to the recording directly click here. Oxford University has also released the episode on apple and android podcasting services and you can find that here.
